FAVERIN (fluvoxamine maleate) is indicated for the treatment of major depression in adults. FAVERIN (fluvoxamine maleate) is also indicated for the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in both children aged 8 years and older, adolescents and adults.

Favic is indicated for the treatment of herpes zoster infection in adult patients who commence therapy within 72 hours of the onset of rash. Greatest benefit occurs if the drug is started within 48 hours.

Efficacy has not been demonstrated in patients less than 50 years of age, although the occasional younger patient with severe herpes zoster may benefit from therapy with famciclovir. Herpes zoster infection is generally a milder condition in younger patients.

Favic is also indicated for the treatment of recurrent episodes of genital herpes in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older.

Favic is also indicated for suppression of recurrent genital herpes.

Favic is also indicated for the treatment of recurrent herpes labialis (cold sores) in immunocompetent adult patients.

Favic is also indicated in immunocompromised patients for:

• - treatment of uncomplicated herpes zoster
• - treatment of recurrent herpes simplex
• - suppression of recurrent herpes simplex

Organophosphate Pesticide Poisoning. For the treatment of muscarinic toxicity resulting from exposure to anticholinesterase compounds (e.g. organophosphate pesticides). Atropine tablets are not as effective as I.V. Atropine, which is almost always required for significant organophosphate poisoning. However atropine tablets are of value when medical assistance is not readily available, and is indicated as a short term antidote pending access to professional medical treatment. Atropine tablets are not recommended as prophylaxis for pesticide poisoning. Atropine does not prevent pesticide poisoning; attempts to use atropine tablets for this purpose have lead to several cases of mild atropine poisoning as well as chronic organophosphate poisoning.

Codeine phosphate 30 mg tablets are indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain.

Hypertension.

Treatment of vaginal and vulvovaginal candidiasis.

Managment of chronic pain requiring opiod analgesia

For the treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor positive breast cancer. The safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant use of letrozole has not been established. Letrozole is not indicated in hormone receptor negative disease.

FERINJECT is indicated for treatment of iron deficiency when oral iron preparations are ineffective or cannot be used. The diagnosis must be based on laboratory tests.

FERRIPROX is indicated for the treatment of iron overload in patients with thalassaemia major who are unable to take desferrioxamine or in whom desferrioxamine therapy has proven ineffective.

For the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in the following circumstances:

• - When oral therapy is contraindicated
• - When enteric absorption of iron is defective
• - When patient non-compliance or persistent gastrointestinal intolerance makes oral therapy impractical.

Hypertension: Treatment of hypertension. Lisinopril may be used alone or concomitantly with other classes of antihypertensive agents. Sufficient data have not been provided to support the use of lisinopril in severe hypertension or renovascular hypertension.

Congestive heart failure: Treatment of heart failure. In such patients, it is recommended that lisinopril be administered together with a diuretic.

Acute myocardial infarction: Treatment of acute myocardial infarction in haemodynamically stable patients, defined as patients who are not in cardiogenic shock and who have a systolic blood pressure greater than 100 mmHg. Lisinopril may be initiated within 24 hours of an acute myocardial infarction.

Treatment of patients with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with an enlarged prostate.

Fisamox is indicated in the treatment of infections due to susceptible strains of the organisms listed below. Fisamox Powder for Injection is intended for use where the patient’s condition precludes the administration of the oral form.

Therapy should be guided by bacteriological studies, including sensitivity tests, and by clinical response. However in emergency cases where the causative organism has not yet been identified, therapy with amoxycillin may be useful. Clinical judgement will decide whether combination with another antibiotic would provide a sufficiently broad spectrum of activity pending sensitivity test results.

Septicaemia (bacterial): H. influenzae, E. coli (see Microbiology), P. Mirabilis, Streptococci, S. pneumoniae, S. faecalis and Salmonella typhi.

Skin and skin structure: Streptococci, non-?-lactamase-producing Staphylococci, E. coli.

Respiratory, acute and chronic: H. influenzae, Streptococci, S. pneumoniae, non-?-lactamase-producing Staphylococci, E. coli.

Genito-urinary tract (complicated and uncomplicated), acute and chronic E. coli (see Microbiology), P. mirabilis and S. faecalis.

Gonorrhoea: N. gonorrhoeae (non-?-lactamase-producing)

Prophylaxis of endocarditis: Fisamox may be used for the prophylaxis of bacterial endocarditis in individuals at particular risk, such as those with prosthetic heart valves or those who have previously had endocarditis.

For the treatment of wounds which supports the healing of skin by covering the wound and creating an optimal moist healing environment. Choose between Flaminal Hydro and Flaminal Forte based on the amount of exudate. Flaminal Hydro – dry or mild to moderate; Flaminal Forte – moderate to severe.
